Injury Active Clinic supports Isabel Hospice’ charity event On Your Bike 2015
The Injury Active Clinic supported Isabel Hospice at their annual charity event, ‘On Your Bike’. Despite the weather, 400 cyclists braved the rain and cycled a 25k, 50k or a 100k course. The ages of the cyclists varied, with the youngest cyclist I met being 10 years old, with many others being younger than this. One cyclists I treated was cycling the 100k, first time he had ever taken part in an event like this to give back to the Hospice who had recently helped with caring for his mum.
The Isabel Hospice is a great charity which supports any adult with a life-limiting disease. To let this support be free to adults suffering from life-limiting diseases the charity needs to fundraise a certain amount a year as its only part funded by the NHS. To provide the highest quality of care for these adults, days like the’ On Your Bike’ needs to happen and for us at the Injury Active Clinic to help out and support the participants to get through this tough day and raise as much money as possible.
Personally I love helping out at charity events, the atmosphere is always great and it is always amazing to support all the athletes who participate in these events. The clinic provided sports massage, injury assessment and advice throughout the day, donating all our proceeds to the hospice. The hospice is expected to raise over £14,000 from this event, beating their fundraising total from last year.
The day was a special day for the hospice, the participants and also for us. The next event we will be supporting is the ‘Colour me happy’ 5k at the Leventhorpe school on the 26th July for the Isabel Hospice. If you are interested in participating in this day sign up online at IsabelHospice.org.uk. We look forward to another exciting event and supporting the Isabel Hospice. Don’t miss out people, and be the one who helps raise money to support our local people!
